Dear devotees and friends of ISKCON Mayapur,

The loss of Pankajanghri Prabhu has saddened the hearts of devotees worldwide. Jananivasa and Pankajanghri Prabhus are the two of the brightest gems in ISKCON. Srila Prabhupada has said, “Vrindavan is my home, Mayapur is my place of worship, and Bombay is my office.” Jananivasa and Pankajanghri Prabhus, being the embodiment of Srila Prabhupada’s worship, are rightly known as the heart of Mayapur. Their unalloyed and uninterrupted service and dedication to Srila Prabhupada makes them worthy of veneration by devotees across the globe.

“Mayapur” is more than a geographical location. It is the home of every devotee who serves Srila Prabhupada’s mission to spread the holy name of Krsna to every town and village, a mission that is Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s own. For every person who has entered the gates of ISKCON Mayapur and had the association of Pankajanghri Prabhu, his departure is heartbreaking; he is truly irreplaceable. Our pain is magnified by the thought of the separation being experienced by Jananivasa Prabhu. The wave of love from all corners of the world is felt in Mayapur, and we are dependent on this love to heal the heart of Jananivasa Prabhu.

The Mayapur residents have long been blessed in their relationships with Pankajanghri Prabhu; relationships built on the numerous exchanges that take place between community members on any given day. That such a great soul, a devotee loved by the entire world, lived here with us, has been our great fortune. But living in Mayapur was never a prerequisite for loving and intimate exchanges with Pankajanghri Prabhu. His heart was open to all, and his service and dedication were admired by all, without exception.

To write of Pankajanghri Prabhu means to write of Jananivasa Prabhu also: they are inseparable, appearing in the same womb, always together, their lives dedicated to Srila Prabhupada’s worship of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava, Sri Panca-tattva, and Sri Prahlada-Nrsimhadeva. As Deena Bandhu Prabhu wrote, “I will miss this dear Godbrother like anything. These two brothers are Mayapur personified for me!”

Like Mayapur itself, Pankajanghri Prabhu is related to, and loved by all. He touched the lives of everyone in ISKCON. It is natural that our hearts are broken by this sudden and incomparable loss, and we offer our condolences to all devotees. Pankajanghri Prabhu is profoundly missed by us, and we pray that when our service is complete, we may be reunited in the ISKCON within the spiritual world.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada’s dear servant, His Grace Pankajanghri Prabhu.
