6606708278?profile=RESIZE_584xOn July 4th is typically a day of great celebration for Americans but this year it is a day of great remorse. The citizens of this country are so deeply divided I can only wonder how we will be able to continue forward as one great nation. No matter where you sit on the political spectrum our collective future looks very bleak.

Yet what is even more disturbing than all the unrest, turmoil and lawlessness that has dominated the news is the fact that the world lost a very great soul last night that many don’t even know about. His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami is one of the few who actually had both the proper spiritual training and the compassionate demeanor to bring light into the darkest corners of this historically pivotal moment in time. He was my friend, my Godbrother, my spiritual inspiration, and I, along with thousands of his disciples and other Godbrothers, not only mourn his departure with great sadness but weep with deep concerns about the vacancy he leaves behind in this troubled world.

Many people take solace in the “Oneness” concept but there seems to be a serious lack of that awareness as cities spiral downward into reckless anarchy spawned by the ignorance of gross bodily consciousness. These problems cannot be fixed with the same misconceptions that created them in the first place. His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami was the embodiment of Bhakti yoga which starts with recognizing that we are all pure spirit souls which have been covered over with misconceptions about our body, culture, nation, sex, age, political viewpoint and mundane concepts of religion. When individuals of his caliber of devotion, humility, compassion, fearlessness, control of senses and acumen depart this earth it is a far more serious matter than all the economic, medical or political upheaval could cause. On July 4th, 2020 on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima and disappearance day of Sanatan Goswami, His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami went on to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krishna in some other dimension. It had to be a glorious dispatch but for many of us it seems as if the sun in our sky went out. There can be no substitute for such a great devotee who gave so much, asked for so little, and maintained so consistently.

From 2017 to 2020 I voluntarily took up the task of studying the poison conspiracy controversy. During that time, I cataloged 500 pages of research that exposed this issue as a massive fraud into a book called DECEPTION. Despite my reluctance to travel due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus, Supersoul directed me to go to Mayapura against all hardships. My intent was to hand-deliver copies of this book to those who had been personally implicated by this terrible rumor of which Bhakti Charu Maharaj was the principal target. Printing schedules and the pandemic complicated that plan tremendously and by the time I got to Mayapura, Bhakti Charu Swami had already departed.

However, by Krishna’s will, Maharaj arrived in Tirupati shortly after Brajarani and I got there. On March 18, while greeting the deities he positioned himself directly behind me and waited for the appropriate moment to get my attention. When our eyes met, I was overwhelmed by the tears of appreciation he was expressing for the effort I had made. He never asked me to do anything and he later shared that he felt this would be a terrible rumor he would have had to bear for the rest of his life. After seeing the condensed movie version of the book DECEPTION he was extremely touched and could not do enough to show his gratitude for my dutiful effort. He was overly kind when he introduced me to the large congregation in Tirupati and later he invited me to take prasadam with him and the temple president Revati Raman prabhu. The attached photos are of that last memorable moment which I am honored to share with all the assembled devotees during this time of deep loss. All Glories to His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami for the excellent example of devotional service he gave to Srila Prabhupada for over 45 years! Hare Krishna!
