The chandan yatra festival in Mayapur is so mesmerizing that devotees are bathing in its delight each and every day. I happened to be there for three days and simply got floored. Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav are adorning enchanting new hues everyday. The forms of Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav was simply scintillating to the heart. It is simply amazing to see how devotees are decorating their Lordships so artistically. Accompanied by heartrending kirtan, the whole atmosphere is charged with spiritual bliss. Lord Nrsimhadeva is also bestowing His mercy decked up in colourful forms. The magnificent deities of the Pancha Tatva appeared so glorious with the sandal wood paste smeared on their foreheads. The exquisite floral decorations in and around the temple added their own colour.The boat festival too was so purifying for the heart. Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav would travel in a floral bedecked palanquin amidst the sound of mridangams and kartals from the temple to the water body adjoining Srila Prabhupad’s Samadhi. Amidst the blowing of conch shells, they would be transferred to a floral bedecked boat specially made for this purpose. It was indeed a wonderful sight to behold as they went round the water body in the colourful boat against the backdrop of the setting sun and a colourful fountain adorning the water body. Devotees thronged from all angles to get a glimpse of their Lordships. Their Lordships were kind enough to give darshan to all. Sumptuous prasadam laced the whole event and at the end of the boat ride their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Madhav would trace their journey back to the temple amidst a lot of fanfare.Your humble servant,Cintamani Sakhi Devi Dasi
