I would like to thank all of you for kindly taking your precious time to come to this most auspicious place of Sri Rama Mandir to join us to hear and chant the glories of Supreme personality of Godhead. In fact, each moment really is so precious that Vishnu Purana explains that there is nothing so precious in all over creation as each moment that we have in this valuable and rare human form of life. And there is no greater misfortune than to waste a single moment in forgetfulness of Lord Narayana.And there is no greater fortune than utilizing any moment in the loving remembrance of Sri Rama.
Bhagavan has appeared in so many time, so many places, so many forms just to reveal His supreme love, His supreme power and thus attracts our mind to always thinking of Him. Today there are so many social events, people come together to hear very materialistic music and dance together, people come to drink together, to eat together, to go the cinemas, to go to the consorts, to go to the sporting events.
But the real purpose of the society is to give people opportunity to come together to hear the glories of the Lord, to chant and dance for the glorification of the names of the God and to take the holy Prasad of the Lord together. And to the degree this is missing from our society to this same exact degree there will be terrible suffering in this world. But we are so foolish that we think that we not have time to regularly come to associate with the sadhus, to hear and chant the glories of the Lord. Because we have so many priorities maintaining our families, building our businesses that this religion is the luxury. It is not the luxury. It is the ultimate necessity of life.
This soul cannot find peace without the remembrance of the God any more that a fish cannot find peace without water. Yet we are dedicating our lives for feeding our bellies which are always causing so much trouble. They are never satisfied prolong. For satisfying our egos, the more you feed it, the more unbearable it becomes. But how much we will neglect. The neglectful of the need of the soul, the Atma who is thirsty, dying for the beautiful sound of the God’s holy name. The supreme personality of Godhead appeared in this world as Lord Sri Ramachandra and Goddess of fortune Sri Laxmi Devi appeared as His eternal consort Sita Devi.
In this particular most wonderful and magnificent incarnation, they cane to show us by their example how to live as a perfect married couple, as the most perfect human being that we all follow and make them a model of our life. Imagine the how kind the Lord is! Not only He gives us the teachings but He personally appears to show us by His example; the ideal way of living together with your wife. We are so much attached to get so much more and more of the things of this world to give us some sense of security and enjoyment.
Ramachandra was made to be coranated as a king. Due to the envy of Kaikayi, He was banished to the forest for 14 long years. Ofcourse we know this story. Sita was determined to follow Him. All the citizens of Ayodhya including His own father Dasharath and mother Kausalya, they were begging and pleading to Him that kindly stay and enjoy the thrown of the kingdom of Ayodhya and remain with His loved family members and remain with His beloved, loyal and dedicated citizens. But Lord Sri Ramachandra, He did not considered His own comforts, He did not considered the wealth and prestige.
He only considered the truth. And therefore in pursuance of the loyalty to the truth, He left the kingdom of Ayodhya. He took off His jeweled garments and put on the bark of trees and live in the forest. He took up residence at the foot of the holy mountain called Chitrakut and there He lived very simple life. Laxman Ji, His brother with his own hands built with straw and wood lying in the forest, a very very simple hut. Nothing in comparison with the royal palace of Ayodhya. Just a little straw hut.
In Ayodhya, Sri Rama had Kausalya and the finest cooks all over the world, preparing Him most wonderful and opulent dishes. But in Chitrakut, Laxman has simply gathered raw leaves and fruits lying on the ground and growing on the trees and few herbs and this what the Lord Sri Ramachandra would take for the Prasad. So if anyone ask to live in the forest under these circumstances, we will probably in too much anxiety.Thinking what I have lost? How much I should going back into the city to try to get more and more and more wealth, get my kingdom back. For Rama was perfectly satisfied. In fact He considered this the blessing of God. In fact, one day He was speaking with mother Sita. And He told her that we have left the beautiful city of Ayodhya and all the kingdom and citizens. But just see now we have the better kingdom.
The beautiful, peaceful forest of Chitrakut are far superior than the kingdom of Ayodhya. Here we have our citizens all the birds, and the wild animals, the trees, plants. And here we have the greatest wealth, the greatest opulence in all the creation. We have the association of the sadhus. We can hear from the daily, we can serve them daily. Sita, these are the most pleasurable, happy moments of my life. Try to understand please. That these years Sri Ram went in the Chitrakut forest with the happiest most peaceful, most blessed and pleasing moments of His life. Why?? Because He had no other distraction. From simply hearing from the great sadhus. Worshipping them, serving them with His heart and with His soul.
Ram considered that such service to the sadhus is a greater wealth than all the kingdom of Ayodya. (18.45 mins) By this examples the Lord is showing us what is really important in life? In the Bible it is said that what is use of gaining whole world if you will loose your immortal soul? So this in fact is the number one supreme most important responsibility for every human being to come together as we are doing tonight in this beautiful temple to hear the glories of the Lord and to chant His holy name.
But it is must be done under the direction of genuine Sadhus who are the humble servants of the previous acharyas. Then it must be done regularly. Just like we regularly eat to maintain strength. If we do not regularly have the sadhu satsang and hear and chant the glories of the Lord then we will not be able to maintain our spiritual strength to withstand the power of Maya in our life. During the divine lila of Sri Rama, He protected His devotees from so many asuras, Kumbhakarna, Indrajit, Ravana and He also give pleasure to His devotees.
And in the same way the supreme Lord appeared in His original form of Sri Krishna to give pleasure to His devotees by playing upon His flute, by performing His wonderful wonderful lilas and protecting them from all the dangers of this world. Lord Sri Ramachandra Ji, Bhagavan Sri Krishna they came to this world, they taught us, they performed their wonderful pastimes and they left. But in the divine form of this sweet and holy sound of the name, they are always present to give us that same pleasure and that same shelter.
Sri Rama is eternally manifested Himself within the sound of His name and He is inviting everyone that all times to simply take this Holy name, to share this holy nam amongst one another. And through this process we can always experience the divine presence of Sri Rama in our life, purify our hearts and attain eternal love, eternal peace. When Lord Sri Rama left this world, Hanuman was felling the separation.
But he made a vow because that Rama is non different from His name, as long as anyone in this world just chanting His holy name, He will remain here to protect them. SO this is really the greatest greatest fortune in our life and the most precious opportunity in all over creation to come together to chant the holy names of Krishna. Everyone please rise. We should chant the holy name with enthusiasm and great feeling. Then we should know that in order to invite Krishna, He is manifesting Himself in His name, we have to live our life in such a way that we will attract the mercy. By avoiding illicit sex, intoxication, gambling, meat eating are the four pillars of sinful life. Associating with holy name in the spirit of submission, quickly the holy name transform our minds to spiritual world. Everyone please raise your arms and with great sincerity and feeling, lets call out the mercy of Sri Krishna……………..
