Conviction cannot be based on intellectual understanding. Are we convinced that Krsna consciousness is true? Yes, I am because it makes sense. But that’s just the beginning and it is a lot more than that. It has to be experienced in the heart. It must be really felt that Krsna consciousness is the most wonderful thing. That’s living on the cutting edge and spiritual life is about living on the cutting edge!
It cannot become routine because as soon as it does then we get into trouble. We start t
In a recent conversation I heard about a person’s struggle with life, and having the ‘it never rains but it pours’ experience. “What did I do to deserve this?” he mused.
“Something”, I replied.
That was almost as painful for him to hear as his present situation. And he couldn’t accept it. “Are you telling me,” he ventured, “that I have caused as much pain to another that I am experiencing now?”
Yes, no one makes our bad karma that causes us pain. It may appear that others are doing it to us, or

When I’m really happy, I cry: happiness is somewhere deep in the throat and it is excited by hope and light-carrying tears. Then, on March 11, 1990, I waited with tears in my eyes while watching television until late evening. Then, right after I heard the words proclaiming Lithuania’s Independence, sipped a glass of cognac – I remember that we had no champagne at home, and we all wanted the freedom to raise the glass of the most precious drink possible. True, the tears
We all have our own experiences of reading Srila Prabhupada’s books and getting better understanding of our philosophy, principles, etc. As we develop more faith, study his books more carefully, also hear them from the mouth of the pure devotees, then we get realisations in our heart. This blissful and transcendental process forever continues in the life a sincere and a faithful follower, anandambudhi-vardhanam.
Today morning I read a very heart touching purport from Srimad Bhagavatam, (SB 11.3

Whenever our padayatra visits any city or town, we try to stop at the major places and also in areas where the holy name has not yet reached. Since one and a half month we have been in the Bangalore area which includes many nama-hatta centers. We visited almost all of them and arranged preaching programs there. Everywhere we received a very warm welcome.
Here are few inspiring accounts about the Padayatra preaching:
SRI SRI NITAI GAURASUNDAR FULFILLIN
“And when the spiritual master sees the devotees are taking bhagavat prasadam, he is satisfied” – Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur.
If there is any other instruction which the devotees of New Vrindaban have taken up more seriously than the one above, I have yet to run across it. In their undaunted endeavors to obtain bhagavat prasadam, devotees have crossed over the difficult ocean of contraptions, locks, chains and booby traps grouped together under the heading of maha cabinets.

Four points to consider regarding Lord Krishna’s characterization of life in the material world.
After teaching a university seminar, I was asked questions I had myself raised when I first encountered the philosophy of Krishna consciousness: “Why is the Vedic philosophy so pessimistic? When the world offers both pleasures and pains, why does the Bhagavad-gita call the world a place of misery?”
Over my decade and a half of practicing and sharing Krishna consciousness, I have
From Back to Godhead
Whether we are neophytes or advanced, association of pure devotees is crucial for our spiritual progress.
The pure devotees of the Lord carry the message of Godhead in order to deliver the fallen souls, and therefore the common man who is bewildered by the influence of the external energy of the Lord should avail himself of their association.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.5.4, purport)

Things are looking really good in the world. Last year, we again increased the book distribution worldwide, and now for the first time we received book scores from Havana. You read that right: Havana, Cuba. Not only did the Havana devotees send their score but they were the No. 1 temple in Latin America, with 1,791 book points.

Devotees often ask what the meaning of steadiness is: some consider that chanting sixteen rounds a day and following the four regulative principles means that one is steady, while others say it is steadiness in one’s service; yet others give different variations of what they consider steadiness to mean. But these things mentioned—regularly chanting and regularity in serving—are physical symptoms that may or may not indicate real steadiness.

At initiation, one makes a lifelong commitment. But so many things happen over time and there are not always going to be great days, there will be moments of difficulty. I have experienced after some operations that it was difficult to chant. Once I was in a hospital, just coming out of intensive care and recovering, and one devotee brought me my beads, but I lost them in the ocean of the bed. They just disappeared and I had no idea what happened to them. At that stage, I did not manage to keep

So far, ISKCON Dallas’ Rath Yatra has been a small scale internal affair, with Lord Jagannath’s chariot pulled through the local neighborhood.
But this year, Kalachandji’s restaurant and TKG Academy are partnering with the Crow Collection of Asian Art to create a cultural event for the entire Dallas area, called ‘Festival of Joy.’
The Festival, to be held on Saturday April 7th at Klyde Warren Park, will be an official part of Dallas Arts Month, launched by Mayor Mike Rawlings

Still today, thousands of homes throughout Britain are without water – thanks to an unprecedented number of burst water mains. Dwr Cymru, the water company here in Wales, say they’re repairing 200 leaks a day, but the misery for some will continue for a few more days.
And, it is a misery when the water runs dry in the taps. We become starkly reminded how much we rely on this humble substance for almost every domestic activity – as I remember all too vividly from my family’s fi
