LET'S REWIND!!!

I am really impressed by this article written by Chetan Bhagat the famous novelist which really touches the hearts of the Indian people. India is the country with the most promising economic progress predicted in the coming millenium geared towards becoming the next economic giant. yet the irony is that India is the only country which such stark contrast in the sense that on one side are the towering buildings with wealthy people rolling in money and luxuries and flaunting their wealth and on the other side there are slums with children rummaging through garbage dumps to get their food. This is our Bharat Varsha the land of contrasting complexities. Here the politicians suck the blood of the people and make their money on the graves of the poor and then flaunt it by wearing money garlands. I wonder how their conscience can allow them to make a vulgar display of their wealth when there are farmers killing themselves and their families afflicted by poverty. considering death a more better option than facing hunger and want.

In a country with such a rich past of spiritual culture where kings would go to sadhus and place their golden crowns at the feet of the sadhus. Showing by their action that their crown of gold is like the material wealth which is nothing compared to the spiritual wealth of the sadhu or renunciant. In fact the scriptures say that the wealth of the rich and famous is like a heavy crown of gold. More bigger and heavier the crown faster you sink in the ocean of material existence and faster is your death. Here we mean spiritual death.

As rightly put by the writer above this just does not seem right. Does not fit in our picutre of glorious India rich with spiritual culture. Where sadhus were respected for their spiritual qualities of tolerance humility and love of God. Gone are those days as today the kings of society are these blood thirsty money crazy politicians who wear money garlands to show their power. For them money = greatness. this was not the equation in ancient india where spirituality= greatness. Such politicians have become the gods of the society of 33 million demigods as if they were not enough. Everyday there is a new God popping up. At least there is no acute shortage of gods in india!!!!!

Concluding in a positive hopeful note i would like to beg the people of india just rewind the tape of our country lets go backward for a change. lets go back and review our ancient spiritual values and go back in time. progress and economic development will take care of itself( there are no shortage of people mad after money). But there is a great need of the youth of India to take this responsibility of taking this country back to its original spiritual glory where wealth was not equated to how many branded things you own or how fat is your bank balance whereas the real wealth was the wealth of the eternal soul rich with qualities of love of god, tolerance and humility.
