Dear Readers and Followers of Free Write Journal,
Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
This edition of the Journal begins by discussing how, in my old age, I am accepting personal service from a disciple (vapu) for health reasons, while in my relationship with Srila Prabhupada I chose to serve his vani, even while he was here. I typed his Srimad-Bhagavatam tapes and began the Boston center on his behalf, and even when called to serve as his servant in 1974, I became restless and volunteered to lead the BBT Library Party.
We are enduring winter’s cold and waiting for the emergence of spring. I tell some old sankirtana stories, both from Prabhupada’s time and my zonal-guru days. A devotee writes to me in appreciation of my many Krishna conscious writings, and I take great encouragement from this and provide readers with a short history of how my devotional writing career evolved over the years, with Prabhupada’s explicit encouragement.
Finally, I mention something about how devotees have achieved success growing and worshiping Tulasi-devi in the West according to Prabhupada’s desire. Here at Viraha Bhavan we have over 40 healthy Tulasi plants and worship her daily in the presence of Sri-Sri Radha-Govinda.
Yours in the service of Prabhupada,
Satsvarupa dasa Goswami
