Krishna-the essence of life

What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear “Krishna”? Some god abiding Hindus might say he is the supreme power while some nonchalant ones will say he is god, so what? Or some others might say to our surprise-is he god?
But the people who love Krishna will feel as if some musical name has been spoken about and they wait for something more to be spoken...Krishna to them is their world...the name keeps reverberating in their head and the golden mantra “HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE HARE RAM HARE RAM RAM RAM HARE HARE”keeps on coming on their lips. Every time they hear Krishna, automatically radhe radhe comes in their thoughts and on their lips.
One thing that is incomprehensible is that how can someone manage thoughts which question the existence of Krishna? In their lifetime, have they never experienced god? Some people say why do idol worship? But to these people I question that when god has incarnated with multiple proofs around the world, then why not? Some things are present even if they are invisible e.g. air. But such things can be felt even if we can’t see them. Krishna devotees can feel his love and presence every second of their life.
We show respect and love to our elders or parents who are no more with us. So why are we unaware about Krishna? After all he is the one who gives everything we have. The biggest proof of god is that our heart is working, we are alive. Do we make it happen? And if someone’s dead can we make him alive? Or can we control the inevitable things happening to us? The answer is no. And key to all our problems is krishna.Every breath or every bite we take is indebted to him. He gives we take, and when he takes we have to give.
Life is momentary. A person is alive at one moment and the next moment he is gone. Every material thing in life is momentary. What is present today will be past tomorrow. What more our body, for which we are caring and loving day and night won’t be there forever..We are aging, no matter how hard we pretend to be young. The best word for life is “illusion “.It seems so real, fantastic and we are lost in it. What we have here, we think it is all ours. But is it? Krishna said in shreemad bhagwat geeta “what is your today will be someone else’s tomorrow. Nothing is static in this universe. Don’t be attached to anything or anyone because nothing is yours”. What we have in the world is because of Krishna. But we forget that and even that these things and people are to be left behind..
Some say work is worship or doing generous tasks is prayer. It is a really good thought but nothing in the world can replace prayer or your connection with Krishna. Krishna said to Arjun “Everything that a person has is because of me. A person, who uses everything without paying respect to me, is like a thief”. This soul is immortal and when it travels back to Krishna, would he recognize someone who has never recognized him or even made fun of him? God also needs some respect or gratitude for all the things he does, for every time he stands beside. But do you expect love from someone who even does not recognize your presence? Our immortal soul is searching for Krishna and our body is after material things which give pleasure. The choice is ours. To be in illusion or to awaken our mind. Krishna stands beside us silently watching if we call him for help. He is always there to hold our hand even when no one is there.
The most beautiful part of Hinduism is that we know whom we worship. We don’t have to dig in dark.Everytime you see Krishna’s beautiful face, you are immersed in love and devotion .Krishna is a ray of hope in this chaotic and materialistic life. So keep chanting Krishna mantra to lead a happy and blissful life.
