since its advent years and years back, krishna consciousness had maintained a permanent role in the human society as the ONLY way of returning Back To Godhead. the explosion of this dharma had finally reached its pinnacle and will continue to soar skyhigh. Krishna Consciousness as stated many times by the acharyas and sages of the past and modern time is a state of being and not just a mere sentimemtal religious movement. the common term used in this dharma is ' Once, we were with Krishna'. yes, once we were with Krishna, enjoying in His Abode and basking in pure devotional service. this was once upon a time and by once upon a time, i mean thrillion of years back. this is confirmed in the Srimad Bhagavatam. but due to our very own desires and temptations to enjoy a world without Him, we decided to take by our heels and thus here we are, from an age of goodness down to an age of quarrel and troublesome, the Kali age. and to dramatize this shameful condition, just look around us and see jusr how much people are true to themselves and to others. nil!!!
so essentially, krishna consciousness as i stated earlier, is not a mere sentimental religious movement, but it is in fact a transition, a state of being. a state of being conscious that Krishna is God and we are the jivanatmas. a state of being conscious that we are not this body and we are not the lord of this material nature. that is Krishna Consciousness. and this does not mean that anyone can form a movement akin to this and preach their own ideas but rather we must adhere to the disciplic succession already present in this society because of one simple reason : BONA FIDE. in this age of darkness, as people say, we suffer and and cheat and suffer and die. the cycle keeps repeating for millions of years but now that we are fortunate to get human bodies ( i used bodies as a term to signify the plurality of the state of transition of our soul because it is not just one body we get but many.. and the best part is that WE DON'T REALIZE THAT!!) so, the symptoms of the Kali age is well described in the Srimad Bhagavatam canto number 12, chapter 2 and verse 1, sukadeva Goswami said tataś cānu-dinaṁ dharmaḥ
satyaṁ śaucaṁ kṣamā dayā
kālena balinā rājan
naṅkṣyaty āyur balaṁ smṛtiḥ
O King, religion, truthfulness, cleanliness, tolerance, mercy, duration of life, physical strength and memory will all diminish day by day because of the powerful influence of the Age of Kali.the king here refers to Maharaja Parikshit. so, the escape the chains of maya, there is only one way , the God-way.
