Melaca, was founded around 1400 ad, when Paramesvara, the ruler of Tumasik (now Singapore), fled from the forces of the Javanese kingdom of Majapahit and found refuge at the site, then a small fishing village.
There he began a Malay kingdom, the kings of which—aided by the Chinese—extended their power over the peninsula. After some time, the area was ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch, British and at independence became a state of Malaysia.
I visited here for the first time where we have a beautiful temple with Krishna Balarama, Radha Krishna, Gaura Nitai and Sita Rama deities. The temple was constructed by the devotees some years ago and I led kirtan, gave class and had delicious prasadam.
