Srila Prabhupada called Krishna consciousness the kitchen religion. He trained us to understand the importance of prasadam distribution, both to the devotees and the masses. However, there has never been an organized collection of quantity cooking recipes.....until now. Announcing: the Kitchen Religion quantity cooking cookbook series.
Designed as kitchen workbooks with room for notes and a metric equivalents chart for non-U.S. cooks, the recipes are presented in a graph-like format with ingredient quantities to cook for 10 – 1,000 people. Each volume also contains specific General Cooking Notes and Tips, a Kitchen Standards document based on Srila Prabhupada’s instructions in this regard, and quotes from Srila Prabhupada on every page related to food in Krishna consciousness. Thus, they are also an invaluable educational tool for training new devotees and prospective temple Brahmins.
Devotees who have seen advance copies have all unanimously agreed that this is a cookbook whose time has come, and that every ISKCON temple kitchen, householder “temple” kitchen, restaurant, Food For Life program, catering program, etc. should have one. Gift shops can sell them as well.
I am very happy to announce the availability of the first volume, Quantity Rice Cooking, containing 65 International rice recipes that are surprisingly easy to prepare. You will have more than a year’s worth of rice recipes for your temple Sunday Feast.
