Kirtan Fest 2017 at ISKCON of Houston

To kick off the World Holy Name Week, ISKCON of Houston, Texas, USA, has announced the launch of Kirtan Fest 2017 this upcoming Labor Day weekend (Sat-Mon Sept. 2nd - 4th) at ISKCON’s fabulous new state-of-the-art Houston, Texas temple. This inaugural festival will kick off what will be an exciting, on-going flagship event every year. This year, the festival encompasses the following auspicious Vaishnava holidays:

Sat, September 2 - Vamana Dvadasi

Sun, September 3 – Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur’s appearance day

Mon, September 4 – Namacarya Srila Haridas Thakur’s disappearance day

Concentrating on kirtan, but with special added seminars and entertainment, Kirtan Fest brings together kirtaniyas, sannyasis, special guests, travelling preachers, artists and ecstatic devotees. A nominal festival registration fee will cover the cost of meals and admission to all programs. Similar to other organized kirtan events such as the Sadhu Sanga Retreat, the organizers will also help provide accommodations for devotees and guests who travel from outside Houston.

“In this age, the congregational chanting of the holy names of the Lord is the prescribed method for waking up. The ways and means are most scientifically presented by Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and intelligent persons may take advantage of His teachings in order to bring about real peace and prosperity.” (Srimad Bhagavatam 1:1:4, purport).
