Health Update of Jayapataka Swami – Bengaluru – 14th August 2026 10.00 PM
Hare Kṛṣṇa. Dear devotees, disciples, and well-wishers,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Today, Guru Mahārāja had some small signs of improvement. He spontaneously opened his eyes for a short while and was moving his arms and legs and readjusting himself in bed.
At this point, there is no clear prognosis regarding his reduced level of responsiveness. His main parameters remain relatively stable, there are currently no signs of active infection, and in many respects his overall condition is stable.
Both the ICU doctors and Guru Mahārāja’s medical team are investigating every reasonable possibility. Many tests have been performed, and so far they have not identified any major issues. Further investigations are underway.
The mood on the ground is cautiously optimistic. At this stage, the doctors believe it is too early to make predictions about how quickly his responsiveness will improve. The focus remains on continuing the investigation, supporting his body, and giving him the time needed to respond.
Those who have served Guru Mahārāja for many years know that his medical history has rarely followed a predictable course. Again and again throughout his life, he has overcome situations that appeared difficult.
We remain hopeful while also recognizing the uncertainty of the present situation.
Guru Mahārāja is surrounded by devotees caretakers who continue chanting and reading to him, speaking to him about preaching activities around the world, and carefully attending to his body.
We ask everyone to continue their intense prayers for Guru Mahārāja and to take shelter of the holy name.
Your servants.

Health Update of Jayapataka Swami Maharaja – 08:00 PM IST, 11th August 2026, Bengaluru, India
Hare Kṛṣṇa.
Dear devotees, disciples, and well-wishers,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Guru Mahārāja’s condition became more critical overnight.
Guru Mahārāja developed fever last night and he also had two episodes of seizures. The exact cause of these seizures is not yet known, and the medical team did an MRI today to determine the underlying cause. The results are expected.
At present, Guru Mahārāja is receiving symptomatic treatment to control and prevent further seizures. However, there has been no significant progress in his overall condition, and his brain function remains reduced overall and has shown slight improvement in second half of day.
The medical team continues to closely monitor his condition and will assess the MRI findings and other investigations to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
Guru Mahārāja’s condition remains fragile and serious. We humbly request all devotees, disciples, and well-wishers to intensify their prayers for his recovery.
May the causeless mercy of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Mādhava, Śrī Pañca-tattva, Śrī Prahlāda-Nṛsiṁhadeva, and Śrīla Prabhupāda protect and help in the recovery of Guru Mahārāja.

Health update of Jayapataka Swami, 08:00 AM, 5th August 2026; Bengaluru, India.
Hare Kṛṣṇa,
Dear devotees, disciples, and well-wishers,
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
Today, Guru Mahārāja continues to remain in a delicate and critical condition.
Following yesterday’s severe episode of sepsis, he has not yet shown meaningful signs of improvement in overcoming this infection. The medical team has escalated his antibiotic treatment, but his body has not yet responded to the new therapy.
Because of the septic shock, Guru Mahārāja continues to require medications to support his blood pressure. Although the dose of these medications has been reduced since last night, his blood pressure remains dependent on this support.
During the night, his stomach and intestines again stopped functioning normally. As a result, feeding has been temporarily suspended until his gastrointestinal function recovers.
To reduce the demands on his body while it fights this infection, Guru Mahārāja has been placed back on full ventilator support.
These are very serious developments. The medical team continues to work around the clock, adjusting treatment as his condition evolves. At this stage, the coming hours and days will be critical.
We are especially grateful to HH. Radhanath Swami Maharaja, who took time to chant and give some comfort to Guru Maharaja over a video call.
We humbly request all devotees to intensify their prayers for Guru Mahārāja. At times like these, there is no substitute for taking sincere shelter of Lord Kṛṣṇa and praying for His mercy.
Your servants.
