ISKCON Miraroad celebrates Janmashtami in Schools

NICE (Narasimha Institute for Children Education) – an education of ISKCON Mira Road has got 50+ teachers who conduct Gita classes every week in their residences. Apart from this they conduct value education classes and Gita classes in different private schools around Mumbai.

For the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada this time NICE planned to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami in schools.

Kapol Vidyanidhi International School (ICSE board) – celebrated on 15th August 2024 on independence day – 30 students participated

Trained and co-ordinated by H.G.Vijaysarvada Mtj, H.G.Rohini Sumukhi Mtj, Bhaktin Pallavi , Bhaktin Radhika & Bhaktin Dhriti every week.

N.L. Dalmia High School (ICSE board) – celebrated on 25th August 2024 -54 students participated

The Procedure :

The NICE Teachers approached and discussed about the Janmashtami event with the school authorities in the month of June
After getting permission from head department and the principal, announcement was made in all classrooms
Interested students registered their names for participating in dance/drama performances, group recitations etc.
Performance rehearsals were taken in the school every week after school hours and during the weekends
The school auditorium was allotted for conducting the event
On the day of the event, H.G.Kamala Lochan Prabhuji (the temple president of ISKCON Mira Road) addressed the students, parents and teachers on the “Importance of Spiritual Cultural performances”, stressing how performing these dramas have tremendous impact on the character of the students and through these performances they make us remember the Supreme lord and His pastimes which is very important.
The programme went as per the scheduled stage performances and concluded with distribution of BBT Krishna photos as gifts to all the staff and students.
