Iskcon Youth League members slice a Youth Day cake.
The International Society of Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) Youth League held a short programme to commemorate Youth Day on Saturday at the Maha Gayatri Temple in Forderville.
A handful of family members looked on as their children conducted a service. Veerasha Bahau welcomed all those present after which song items were offered as praise and worship.

President of the Youth League, Tamal Krishna shared a few words with the young people in attendance.
“The youth is the future and we should get more involved in spiritual activities,” he said shyly.
To honour the historical day, the young Iskcon devotees united to chant the names of Lord. Justin Sukram took to the podium to deliver his keynote speech in which he emphasised that every youth needs guidance, not just that of a material education, but on a spiritual platform as well.

He touched on how Youth Day came about and went on to say: “Use your time wisely, as our life is a valuable asset and an instrument to go back to the universal properties,” Mr Sukram added.
The afternoon was filled with spiritual experiences and enjoyed by all. The youth passed gratitude to everyone who assisted in the success of the event.
Scrumptious prasadam was served at the end of the Youth Day celebration.
