Devotees from ISKCON Bangkok’s Ramkhamhaeng and Thonburi communities distributed hundreds of books during Bangkok’s 12th International Day of Yoga celebration on June 21.
More than 6,000 people gathered in the early morning at Chulalongkorn University for one of the city’s largest Yoga Day events to date. The program was held on the lawn in front of the memorial statues of King Chulalongkorn and King Vajiravudh.
Organized by the Embassy of India in Thailand in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University and other organizations, the celebration drew yoga practitioners, members of the Indian diaspora, government representatives, and participants from across Bangkok.
Among those attending were India’s Ambassador-designate to Thailand, Puneet Agrawal; Pattana Promphat, Thailand’s Minister of Public Health; Lin Yang, Deputy Executive Secretary of UNESCAP; and representatives of Chulalongkorn University.
The theme of this year’s observance was “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” highlighting yoga’s contribution to physical health, mental balance, and overall well-being. ISKCON devotees added a spiritual dimension to the gathering by sharing Srila Prabhupada’s books with participants interested in exploring yoga beyond its physical practice.
