PRESS RELEASE
ONE DAY FOR UKRAINE festival will take place on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 in Alachua, FL (15 minutes outside of Gainesville) and will aim to bring awareness to the ongoing war in Ukraine. This will be the first interfaith event for the community, uniting people of various cultural, religious, social and economic backgrounds, around a great humanitarian cause. The event will welcome members of the greater Gainesville, Orlando, St. Augustine, Tampa, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville communities and will be held outdoors on the beautiful campus of the Alachua Hare Krishna temple, located at 17306 NW 112th Blvd, Alachua, FL 32615 from 10am-6pm with fun activities for the whole family.
Festival will give voice to war eyewitnesses and survivors, who will share their personal stories from the stage. There will be Ukrainian crafts and handmade items for sale, top local vendors, amazing vegan and vegetarian food, henna artists, art showcase and live music to enjoy! The children will have plenty of fun with various bouncy houses and obstacle courses, carnival style games, arts & crafts and more! Additionally, many esteemed guests and speakers are lending their voices to the event, including Mrs Sharon Hamilton-Getz (NY, NY), an interfaith minister and an Ambassador of Good Will to the United Nations; Mr Annuttama Das, an Advisor for the Religious Freedom Institute (Washington, DC) and various leaders of the interfaith community of Greater Gainesville. Event is free, parking is free.
