We are taught that we should follow our guru and his instructions throughout our life. I also feel so. However, if our guru asks us to do something which seems to beKrishna conscious but is not, then what happens? Am I liable for that bad karmaor is the guru?

This is why Srila Prabhupada advises in the Nectar of Instruction that one should only take as his spiritual master a devotee who is an uttama adhikari, a highly advanced devotee, sothat one will not suffer under insufficient guidance. If you do this, youwill not have to worry about the scenario that you have described.
