Question: How to Know that Gita is Authoritative?
Please accept my humble obeisances
Answer: Carefully Transmitted by Great Authorities
The Bhagavad-gita was spoken to Arjuna by Lord Krishna 5,000 years ago on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Srila Vyasadeva, the compiler of the Vedic wisdom, is an incarnation of God and thus has the divine power to perfectly know each and every syllable of the Bhagavad-gita exactly as it was spoken. He dictated it to Ganesh, who then wrote it down, so it could be preserved in written form. Copies were made of the original document and then copies of the copies, etc. These copies that have been confirmed as the exact words of Lord Sri Krishna by all the great acharyas over the last five thousand years, including our spiritual master, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Therefore on the authority of these great acharyas we accept the Bhagavad-gita as authoritative. |

Hare Krishna!
Grateful if you could clear this point for me:
How many years back did Srila Vyasadeva dictate the Bhagavad-Gita to Ganesh?
