All glories to Srila Prabhupada.For the pleasure of all the Vaishnavas I am writing my first blog today on Iskcon Desire Tree Network. This is a wonderful opportunity to share our experiences.When I got married I was addicted to eating non-veg and drinking beer. And when my wife said let’s go to the temple, I would ask her, “What?” Sorry she was just reading my draft and said it was “Why?” Today it’s the other way around. I try to go to the temple every week and she asks, “Why (every week)?”At what point did I become a devotee? I remember I had gone with my family to a very old Vishnu temple in Karnataka. I was impressed by the very large footprints of Lord Vishnu. I wanted to take immediate darshan. But the curtains were closed. And the pujaris told me to wait for a few minutes. But for an hour or so there was no sign of us getting darshan. But there was intense activity with the pujaris going in and out of the Deity room.The temple was in a desolate place and I was torn between getting darshan and leaving the place before it became dark. Finally it took us about three hours to get darshan. But there was a huge sense of satisfaction for me which I will never forget for the rest of my life.My life took a different turn that day which finally brought me to Iskcon & Srila Prabhupada.I am sure all devotees relish the day when they came in touch with Iskcon devotees.
