Hare Krishna,
My name is Dvijamani Gaura dasa. I am a brahmachari in ISKCON, currently based in Lithuania.
For the past several years, I have felt a growing desire to help expand Krishna consciousness among Arabic- and Farsi-speaking people living throughout Europe. Millions of people from these language communities now live across the continent, yet very few devotees are engaged in regular outreach specifically for them.
The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) has made wonderful progress in printing Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books in Arabic and Farsi, including the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is and several introductory books. My desire is to take these books directly to the people who can benefit from them.
The Vision
This project is to establish a mobile preaching and outreach vehicle that will allow me and a preaching partner to travel throughout Europe, visiting cities and communities with significant Arabic- and Farsi-speaking populations.
Using the camper van as a simple mobile base, I plan to:
Distribute Bhagavad-gītā As It Is and other BBT books in Arabic and Farsi.
Meet people personally and answer questions about Krishna consciousness.
Visit diaspora communities throughout Europe.
Build lasting relationships with sincere seekers.
Share devotional music (kīrtana), prasādam where practical, and spiritual discussions.
Document the outreach so supporters can see the results of their contributions.
Rather than making occasional short trips, a camper van will make it possible to remain on the road for extended periods while keeping travel and accommodation costs manageable.
Why This Is Needed
Although there is wonderful preaching taking place throughout ISKCON, relatively little outreach is currently focused on Arabic- and Farsi-speaking communities across Europe.
This project seeks to help fill that gap.
Every Bhagavad-gītā placed into someone’s hands has the potential to change a life. Śrīla Prabhupāda repeatedly emphasised the importance of book distribution, and I hope to assist that mission by making these translations available to people who might otherwise never encounter them.
My Connection with ISKCON
I am undertaking this project as a personal initiative while living as a brahmachari within ISKCON.
My temple president is aware of and supportive of this preaching effort and encourages me to pursue it. Although this fundraiser is being organised by me personally, the outreach is intended to support the wider mission of spreading Krishna consciousness through Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books.
Funding Goal: €30,000
The goal of €30,000 will help establish the project with a reliable vehicle and the equipment needed for long-term outreach.
Estimated costs include:
Camper van purchase: €24,000
Registration, insurance, and taxes: €1,500
Initial mechanical inspection and servicing: €2,000
Solar and electrical system for off-grid living: €2,000
Initial contingency and setup expenses: €500
These figures are estimates, and if the project costs less than expected, any remaining funds will be used directly for the ongoing outreach, such as travel expenses, vehicle maintenance, and distributing BBT books.
Accountability
Throughout the journey, I will regularly post updates, photographs, and reports so that everyone who contributes can see where the outreach is taking place and the people being reached.
I hope this project will become not simply the purchase of a vehicle, but the beginning of many years of service.
How You Can Help
If this vision inspires you, I would be deeply grateful for your support.
Whether you are able to contribute a little or a lot, every donation brings this project one step closer to reaching people with the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad-gītā.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with friends and family is another valuable way to help.
Thank you very much for your kindness, encouragement, and prayers.
Yours in service to Srila Prabhupada,
Dvijamani Gaura dasa Brahmacari
