The blessed Soul Deena Bandhu Prabhu appeared on the Shravan Shukla Chaturthi 1949 in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. and today we celebrated his 61st B’day in Vrindavan Dham with a bit of pomp and glory. In the brief celebrations organised by us, the Temple President HG Panca Gauda Prabhu, HG Bhuvaneswar Prabhu, HH B.B. Madhav Maharaj, Mukund Dutta Prabhu and more than 25 Temple senior Brahmacaris participated. HG Deena Bandhu Prabhu distributed palatable prasad to all participants.
A couple of months after the 20th B’day in 1969, on the occasion of Janmashtami, Deena Bandhu Prabhu visited the ISKCON Boulder Temple and met HDG Prabhupad and as he instructed, he remained in the temple and never left thereafter. On 25 January 1970, Srila Prabhupad initiated him in the same temple. In 1984, he arrived at Vrindavan and enjoying the celestial pastimes of Radha-Shyamsunder for the past twenty-six years. His holy presence is a great blessing and he entreats the visitors and engages them in the holy parikrama of Vrindavan Dham.
Astonishingly, his popularity in ISKCON is far and wide and we received numerous B’day blessings emailed to us. Thanks to all those who remember him as a beacon of light that guides the blind. Best wishes on his sixty-first B’day on behalf of all devotees of Vrindavan and ISKCON and the Vrajavasis.
