Giving Classes by Bhaktimarga Swami

I love to give class. The themes were “Planning”, “Expanding” and “ What we love about Krishna”. I am not always proud of my presentations, like today, but I am basically glad if more of the listeners fell asleep. That’s one way that I gauge success in delivery. Did I make anyone laugh. That to me is another criterion at a class.

Our guru, Srila Prabhupada, was a laughologist, but that did not form the bulk of his presentation. It was a component of a class whether it was based on the Gita, Bhagwatam, Nectar of Devotion, or any of his texts. He was diverse by telling stories from the Vedas, his own personal autobiographical talks, gusting Sanskrit verses, giving examples in nature, quoting previous sages and acharyas,  drawing analogies, making sounds of animals and so on.

There is incredible variety! Lots of spice! Setting back-about the class on planning- do it – it is the sattvic (good and smart) thoughts do, “ Fail to Plan means plan to fail”. At the same time enjoy the adventure when your plan does fail for one reason or another. Remember you’re not the doer. (Class in Toronto)

Secondly, on the topic of expanding, at the Q and A time on person asked that is it in the plans to expand any room for adapting an eco-village? Then another person asked if there is some chance for our mission to reset to harm done to Krishna devotees as in the case of incidents in Bangladesh? It was implied if we could develop a Protection Kshatriya Department within our mission. (Class in Brampton)

Thirdly, I posed questions in Oakville such as “What has Krishna contributed to the world?” And “ What do you like most him?” Here the children responded so well.
