Gita Jayanti

Today is Gita Jayanti, this is the day on which Lord Sri Krishna spoke Bhagavad Gita to His dear devotee Arjuna on the battle field of Kurukshetra, situated in Haryana state in India over 5000 years ago.

The Bhagavad-gita is universally renowned as the jewel of India's spiritual wisdom. The Gita's seven hundred concise verses provide a definitive guide to the science of self-realization. No other philosophical or religious work reveals, in such a lucid and profound way, the nature of consciousness, the self, the universe and the Supreme.

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder Acharya of ISKCON and representative of an unbroken chain of fully self-realized spiritual masters begining with Lord Krishna Himself. Thus, unlike other editions of the Gita, this one is presented as it is--without the slightest taint of adulteration or personal motivation. This edition is certain to stimulate and enlighten each and every person with its ancient yet ever-applicable message. This Bhagavad Gita As-It-Is is translated into more than 90 languages across the world and is accepted as textbook in many universities.

At Mayapur Instute, over 26 courses are taught based on Bhagavada Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam and other Vedic texts
