Before covering territory on wheels today, I decided legs must be in motion before the anticipated journey southbound. Through the area of Muskoka, of which Huntsville is located, a good stretch of the Trans Canada Trail exits. Whenever I see that sign with that maple leaf insignia I don’t exactly drool over it, but I do get excited, so I took to the trail by the water’s edge enjoying a mosquito free trek.
What ecstasy !
Much like the previous day’s journey with its layers, today follows a similar pattern. The second layer brought us to Barrie, Ontario for exploring the waters of Lake Simcoe, but more importantly a home visit to Mohit and Naina. They have been quite active with students of Georgian College. The international students from India have particularly been nourished by them, not just through food but more so reassurance sessions on some of the homesickness they feel. Some time is also given to kirtan and sastra, books of Vedic wisdom. They are responding well to the attention the couple is giving.
Our driver, Mahadeva, passengers Annapurna and I, took up the challenge to drive against the busy hours of Friday afternoon traffic for destination, Burlington. A second couple hosted us today for prasadam, and discussions on how to expand in their area the culture of higher consciousness. The area is Burlington/Hamilton and the couple is Jagannath Misra, my doctor, and master cook, Saci Mata, his wife. For some time now this great couple have been conducting Saturday night bhakti sessions at Grace United Church. Also in discussion was Krishna Kala, Prema and Gaura regarding collaboration between the two cities. We are growing.
