The GBC meeting opened with Srila Prabhupada Guru Puja prayers followed by a reading from the Srimad Bhagavatam (6.5.27-28) by Prahladananda Swami.
Twenty-five members attended the meeting in Mayapur. Dina Sharan Devi Dasi, and Emeritus members Mukunda Goswami, Gopal Krishna Goswami, and Guru Gauranga Das joined online.
The first agenda topic taken was a presentation about Sri Caitanya Culture World Heritage Centre which is a 740 acre project, incorporating most of what is known as the Mayapur City. The Committee updated GBC members about the current plans for the city, including roads, parks, pilgrim areas, residential, administration, auditoriums, etc. Currently construction of a 100-bed hospital is underway. The Committee also updated the GBC on the overall process of land allocation and building approvals which includes thorough Committee review, architectural review and final approval by Mayapur Executive Board (MEB), which is a ten person board composed of India Bureau and GBC members.
Kamlesh Krishna Das, Director of the ISKCON Global Child Protection Office presented his annual report. He highlighted the importance of increased awareness of child protection from GBC level down to every devotee in ISKCON especially at the local community level. He outlined a proposal to add regional CPO Directors globally, in 14 different regions.
This was followed by the annual report from the Deity Ministry, made by the global Deity Minister, Nrsimha Kavaca dasa.
