Very thoughful story:
Once upon a time three robbers went to steal a precious gemstone from a temple of Lord Shiva constructed in a cave. That gemstone was protected by a scorpion in the cave hole which the robbers where unaware of .When the first robber put his hand in the cave hole to take the gemstone, he was bitten by the scorpion. He was about to make panic but he relented thinking that this would save his companion robbers from the pain of the scorpion bite he had gone through. So Instead of shouting he made an expression of extreme relaxation. On being asked by the other robbers about his relaxing condition, he cheated them by saying that he felt so because of the cooling breeze flowing inside the cave hole.In order to relish the same tranqulity which the first robber was showing in his face, the second robber also poked his hand inside the cave hole and was bitten by the scorpion very strongly. But he also acted like the first first robber in order to cheat the third one.As a result the third one also followed in the foot steps of the previous two companions and suffered the same pain.
Similiarly in this material world our so called well wishers used to cheat us by complelling us to also take the process of Sense gratification which though seems to be very pleasing outwardly but leads to utmost suffering at the end.One should be careful from such bad association and not inspired by them and should take shelter of the Sastras which leads us to the mode of Goodness charachterised by sense control and Devotional service to the Supreme Lord.
