Water gives life, a refreshing newness to one's feelings, a refreshing invigorating reincarnation. After an invigorating time in the water of Lake Superior's pristineness and supportive play with some of the guys from Winnipeg and the local area, I contemplated deeply on the lack of water experienced by some of my best devotees friends in the fiery basin in Venables Valley.
I'm speaking about the village of Sarangati in British Columbia where not only in the village itself but the towns around have had to be evacuated. Some of the residents from that community have lost their homes and the future for the usual vibrant community doesn't look so bright. Fortunately all members are safe and not a full report can be given as to how much loss there is as fire fighters work feverishly in attempts to control the wild flames. There is also a remarkable support system in place to help those who are displaced from their homes, school and temple.
While the people of Thunder Bay are enjoying a circus, a big music fest and our Colour Fest, in another part of the country there is some anguish and uncertainty about the future of some of our dear devotees who have demonstrated a good life of simplicity and goodness. It is a conscious community to a high degree.
All in all a good day for some and contemplative for others.
