In the text “Caitanya Caritamrta “ we read about a flood - the flood of love of God, that is. Flooding is always an interesting dynamic. More commonly a flood refers to an over abundance of water that comes as a sudden melt down of ice or snow, or a gush of water from the skies.

Passionate rain came pouring down creating power outage and flooding in Southern Ontario, resisting traffic flow. The Don Valley, a major thoroughfare in Toronto got majorly impacted. For commuters and walkers, like our small group, from the temple ashram, if you stayed on high ground, you were safe.

The sudden rains from heaven didn’t stop our steps. When I returned from our nighttime trek, short as it was, I probed into Instagram happy to find out that the legs and feet have a special tie into the brain. In other words studies show that good wholesome legs and feet indicate a good wholesome brain. That is a nice co-relation. My own experience tells that sufficient walking improves sharpness of thought.

In my few moments of reflection I contemplated how an excess of everything can create disruption. And that is what the physical world is known for, in terms of extreme conditions I imagine much erosion came about today with the rain’s massive proportions. With modern ways the tendency is to go in the overdrive with sense gratification. That is spoiling a lot of people.
