Christ and Krishna

Question: Christ and Krishna

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I'm looking for some clarification after a brief discussion with my Christian friend.  He wants to know whether Jesus is the son of Krishna and is Krishna the same God Christians pray to. Furthermore, can one be liberated by praying directly to Jesus or to Krishna? My friend supported this belief by quoting John 14:6, where it states, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Answer:  Krishna is God, the Father

Yes, Jesus is the son of Krishna and Krishna is the same God that the Christians pray to. We also teach the same principle that no one can approach God directly, that one can only approach God through the medium of the bona fide spiritual master.

Where the Christians are wrong is that they say that Jesus Christ is God's only son. If an ordinary man of this world can have more than one son, why God should restricted to having only one son? This idea is ridiculous. The fact is that since God is unlimited He can have unlimited sons. In other words, there can be many spiritual masters who can connect their disciples with God. Whether one prays to Jesus or Krishna, he must give up all forms of material sense gratification including illicit sex, meat eating, intoxication, and gambling and regularly chant the holy names of God on a daily basis. If he does so sincerely, he can awaken the pure love of  God within his heart.
