New Staff and 2010 Admission Openby Parsada devi dasiA team of 7 devotee-graduates from the famous Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) will be joining the staff of Bhaktivedanta Gurukula and InternationalSchool (Vrindavan) this coming school year! This group of creative andtalented devotees is led by Dr.Lila Purusottoma dasa, presently a professorat IIT Kanpur, who will be joining full time in July as Director of theschool.Thus, for those of you keen for your child to be educated in an environmentdedicated to Krishna Consciousness and academic excellence, you may want toconsider BGIS.Located right next to the vibrant Krishna Balaram Temple, the Schooladdresses the learning needs of both primary and secondary students. Theatmosphere is dedicated to bringing out the best in each student in allaspects of life whether it be in the areas of art, music, math, languages,or science. Because that's what Krishna Consciousness is all about -learning to love and serve Krishna though actively developing our skills andtalents, and preparing ourselves to live as people of character andcompetence - as vaisnava gentlemen.So along with the opportunity to live as a devotee - each ashram of 18students has a temple room and deities to worship - students attend academicclasses to prepare themselves for future study, work, or service.Over the years, we have enabled our students to perform at their best andcontinue on to universities of their choice--both in India and overseas.Many have stayed close and connected to nearby temples and devotees, and areregular participants in the programs and activities there.
