The Māyāpur Institute had inaugurated Bhāgavata-vicāra, a weekly study of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, for the First Canto on the 1st of January 2017 both in English and Bengali. It has turned out to be quite successful, in fact, more successful than we had expected. Later Second Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam was also completed by Nov 2017.  We then started with 3rd Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam.

3rd Canto Bhagavata Vichar Course has 33 sessions, one session each on Sunday afternoon for about 120 minutes. Those who take up the course as students deal with assessments, but there is also a facility to simply listen to the classes as listener. Those who have attended all the classes as listeners or attended the classes and completed the assessments as students will receive certificates from the Māyāpur Institute. The Māyāpur Institute intends to complete all of these Cantos one by one, and then restart with series beginning with the First Canto; so, devotees who had not taken up the First and second Canto in Bhāgavata-vicāra can still join in from the Third Canto. The fee for this course is a nominal fee of Rs 1800 for full Course for students and Rs. 900 for Students for the whole course.

This course offers the residents of Śrī Māyāpur a fine opportunity to continuously hear, remember and repeat the glories of the Lord as described in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, which is itself highly recommended in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.8.36: “O Kṛṣṇa, those who continuously hear, chant and repeat Your transcendental activities, or take pleasure in others’ doing so, certainly see Your lotus feet, which alone can stop the repetition of birth and death.”
