A weekly course on Śrīmad Bhāgavatam for the resident devotees of Śrīdhām Māyāpur, seperately in English and Bengali. The classes will be on Sundays, afternoon 4 to 6 pm (no classes from Nityānanda-trayodaṣī to Gaura-pūrṇimā).
- One chapter per week.
- Students are expected to read in advance one chapter’s translations and purports.
- The first 30 minutes will be a closed book assessment of that chapter. The next 90 minutes will be a class on the next chapter.
- Apart from this, there will be end-of-Canto assessments–one open book assessment which they can prepare from the beginning of the Canto study, and a two hour closed book assessment.
- We recommend “Bhāgavata-subodhinī” as a reference book.
- Attendance will be mandatory.
- There will be some code of conducts during class.
- Certificates of successful completion will be awarded at the end of each Canto. Each Canto can be studied independently. Those who receive all the Cantos’ certificates can receive a final grand certificate.
- After the completion of each Canto, a special session will be conducted, in which a brief overview of the Canto will be presented, a Māyāpur Institute representative will give out the certificates of completion.
