Since the time of Lord Chaitanya, Navadvip has been a place of Gaudiya Vaishnava learning. It is evident from the verses 60 and 61 from Sri Chaitanya Bhagavat Adi-khanda 2nd Chapter -
nana-desha haite loka navadvipe yaya
navadvipe padile se ‘vidya-rasa’ paya
Many people came from various provinces to study in Navadvipa, because by studying there one achieved a taste for education.
ataeva paduyara nahi samuccaya
laksha-koti adhyapaka,-nahika nishcaya
Therefore no one could count the innumerable students and millions of teachers gathered there.
Following the same mood, our Acharyas, especially Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur and Srila Prabhupada desired that we establish Mayapur as an International center for sastric study. To fulfill this vision of our acharyas’ Mayapur Institute (MI) was established in the year 2000.
Srila Prabhupada desired that we establish an exclusive set up to train devotees worldwide here at Mayapur, which he mentioned in a letter to Atreya Rsi Prabhu, in August 20th 1971
“So we are going to open a big center in Mayapur where this education will be internationally imparted...”
Now, the time has arrived and this vision of Srila Prabhupada is unfolding. Phase -1 of the MI Campus Project is almost ready. We still need Rs. 30 Lakhs to complete the finishing operations.
Srila Prabhupada said that the secret of success in spiritual life is to manifest the desires of the previous Acharyas.
Now, here is a wonderful opportunity for all of you to be an instrument in fulfilling the desire of our previous acharyas and receive their special blessings upon you and your family, by sponsoring one or more square feet construction of the Mayapur Institute’s Campus.
Anyone who sponsors a square feet or more now will have the special privilege to participate in the Yagna on the auspicious inauguration day of Phase-1 of the MI Campus on 3rd July this year. Yajna will be offered on your behalf, if you are unable to come personally.
We invite you to join us in this marathon to please our previous acharyas by fulfilling their vision and attract the mercy of the Supreme Lord. Hare Krishna!
