The 10%
BBT India organized a two-day conference on book distribution on 21st and 22nd October, 2015 at ISKCON Govardhan Eco Village, Wada. This was a pioneering attempt to help book distributors in West Indian Divisional Council (WIDC) become more organized and inspired for the upcoming Marathon. The event was inaugurated by HG Gauranga Prabhu (WIDC Chairman and ISKCON GBC Member) and HG Vaisesika Prabhu (ACBSP) with the blessings of HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaja, HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja, HH Lokanath Swami Maharaja, and HG Bhima Prabhu (ACBSP).
Around 80 devotees, including temple presidents, BBT managers, Sankirtana leaders, regular book distributors, senior devotees, and representatives from 15 WIDC temples actively participated in the two-day event. HG Vaisesika Prabhu presented a series of inspirational and highly informative talks, inspiring devotees to do massive book distribution throughout the year in addition to the enthusiastic marathon preparation. He gave practical tips and techniques on how to keep the motivation going and to advance spiritually through doing book distribution as regular sadhana.
His Holiness Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaja and His Holiness Lokanath Swami Maharaja shared inspirational talks on the Glories of Book Distribution during the event, stressing on how this service is so pleasing to Srila Prabhupada. HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja, although unable to attend due to his schedule, was happy to hear about the event and gave full blessings to increase distribution of Srila Prabhupada’s books.
Earlier in October, the WIDC temple presidents endorsed a pledge to increase book distribution in 2015 Marathon by 10%, and HG Gauranga Prabhu appreciated this event as a very useful training for WIDC temples to reach that goal, and wished that more events of this sort be held every year at ISKCON, Govardhan Eco Village.
