Back to Basics

It seems we tend to get in to literatures beyond our level of progressive advancement,

sometimes, like we are in over our head.

My Gurumaharaj from the very beginning always instructed me to just focus on reading, chanting and asssociating with devotees.

upadesamrita holds some very nice instruction on associating with devotees, how to associate with the three kinds of devotees.

We should always study Srila Prabhupada's literatures very closely before venturing into what may or may not be 'unauthorised' literatures.

Many senior members of our movement have now and are now producing quality, authorised literatures/translations of the Six Gosvamis and Gaudiya Vaishnava literatures.

"If you want to build big then you must/need a solid foundation." Srila Prabhupada's books contain all the neccessary ingredients for laying a solid foundation.

These courses like 'bhakti sastri' and 'bhakti vi-bhava' are definately required before venturing off into rasa lila etc.

Personally am now reading Bhagavad-gita again, (from start to finish) and starting to become a little familiar with the Sanskrit text.

Have bhakti sastri qualification and have prepared lectures given in temple on every verse up to 6th chapter "Dhyana Yoga."

We should never go past getting back to the basics  and re-assesing that our foundations are sure and solid.
