Appreciate the spiritual value of blessings.......................Nectarean Mellows

Maha Prasad is very precious. It’s very sacred. Our tendency is just to see Maha Prasad as just food, Mahaprasad as a garland. Someone gives you even a little plastic jewel from the Deity as mahaprasad that is more precious than all the diamonds of the world that are not offered. Somebody asked Prabhupada, "What about putting kind of simple inexpensive jewellery on Krsna?" Prabhupada said "When it’s on Krsna's body it becomes more precious than diamonds and rubies and emeralds" because it becomes Krsna's paraphernalia. We have to appreciate the spiritual value of blessings otherwise we get some mahaprasad and we say "I don't like this mahaprasad". We take it ordinary and we are cheating ourselves. For one who is in a place where there is no mahaprasad even if he gets a rotten piece of mahaprasad by material standards, he will take that as more precious than anything else in the world. Absence and separation gives us an appreciation of the value of something.

Humility is not just a part of devotional service; it is the heart of devotional service.

To see a Vaishnava and not become happy is an offence. – Skand Puran

It is important to remind ourselves that at the end of the day, all we really have is each other.
