Dear God-family,
ISKCON WEST AFRICA B.T. SWAMI MEMORIAL/LORD JAGANNATH RATHAYATRA FESTIVAL IN KUMASI, GHANA.
The annual ISKCON West Africa B.T. Swami Memorial/Lord Jagannath Rathayatra festival comes off July 4th to July 10th, in the Garden City of Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa.
To effectively host the program in Kumasi, we need to put certain facilities in place in order to receive all the exalted and wonderful Vaisnavas, who will be coming to participate in the festival for the first time. Prominent on the list are HG Malati DD (GBC, New Vrindavan and Ohio), HH Bhakti Narasimha Maharaja from South Africa, Sankarsan Nitai Pr (General Manager Sri Dham Mayapur), HG Bhumata DD (USA), HG Krsnanandini DD ( USA), HG Kamagiri DD (USA), HG Indriyani DD (USA), HG Antriyami DD (USA) and HG Premvillas Pr (USA).
The temple hall is too small to accommodate the devotees from all of West Africcion to the public on the ratha yatra day) is estimated at about 5,500 Ghana cedis, lodging/accommodating devotees to cost 6,000 Ghana cedis, and building of Lord Jagannath Cart is estimated to cost about 3,000 Ghana cedis. 2 Polytanks of 3,000 gallons each at 2,000 Ghana cedis and canopies, chairs, PA System, Video coverage, water etc. estimated at 3,000 Ghana cedis.
The planning committee and all the devotees in Ghana are therefore requesting for the assistance of the godfamily, well-wisher devotees and members of the Indian community; to enable us host this festival. So far 10, 000 Ghana cedis has been received out of the 44,500 Ghana cedis needed to host the festival. The temple hall expansion has been initiated, while the other facilities are still waiting for attention. All these arrangements have to be completed by the end of June. We would therefore be most grateful if you could kindly give a helping hand, no matter how small, to enable us host this festival to the satisfaction of all the visiting devotees from around the world. We aware of the global economic meltdown, which has created a harsh financial environment for everyone, yet for the pleasure of our dear most Gurudeva, Srila Bhakti Tirtha Swami Maharaja and Lord Jagannatha, some sacrifices have to be made to make this festival a reality. May Gurudeva and Lord Jagannatha bless you unlimitedly for your kind support.
