Annamrita's tasty Khichdi now reaches the Oxford of the east
From 15th June 2012 ISKCON Food Relief Foundation has started feeding 16000 children daily in Pune. Under the midday meal program, Annamrita, we are reaching out to various Municipal schools in areas like Shivaji Nagar, Aundh, Pashan, Bopodi, Pune station and Koregaon Park. We have begun serving 120 city schools with mid-day meals from our high-tech kitchen at Nigdi. With six vehicles to distribute the meals we are able to cover schools with two different lunch shifts – morning schools get their meal by 10 AM while afternoon schools get their meal by 3 PM. Our able cooks dish out a wide variety of menus like different types of khichadis, Pulav, Rice with ‘usal’, ‘sambar’ or ‘dal’ etc. One day in the week we also include a supplementary food item like ‘khajur’, ‘chikki’ or wheat biscuits to improve the nutritional quality of the meal. Thus we are able to supply large quantities of quality meals to all the municipal schools in Pune. Continue Reading... |
