  • Most often, we being devotees practicing Krishna Consciousness & working outside in the Corporate world are encountered with these problems. This is common phenomena. On the basis of my experience, it has something to do more with the personal life rather than professional life. If we are not engaged in these activities, does not mean that it will hamper our progress in professional life. In this material world be quite often find people who are ready to drift our consciousness to so called material enjoyments.

Srila Prabhupada said that while dealing with materialistic persons we must have an approach of "as soon as finish your business". At times we may need to engage with them in personal relationship, if they are interested or looking forward to take up the path of spiritual life (a little ). Otherwise we must limit our association and follow the needful principle. Though it is a little challenging part but by gradual practice we can learn to deal with such situations. Gradually people also get to know that he is not interested in such mundane affairs and hence do not interfere. I have given a general synopsis of the situation you have narrated. It may be different as per time, situation and circumstances in which in have to deal with them.

Hope it clarifies. Thank you Hare Krsna
