It was a whole night and half a day that I was up in the air, I’m not always stepping on the ground. It was such a pleasure to be greeted in Argentina by Muktinath, one of the actors I’ll work with, Daksha, who runs a successful Veg restaurant, an Meru devi, coordinator for the weekend Chariot Fest. Once we reached the ISKCON Centre, I wasted no time.
I was graced with a welcoming committee doing kirtan, got well fed and dove into practice for the play, “ The Jagannatha story” in Spanish. I asked the actors to read before me, each taking a line and covering the whole charming story. I can follow it easy enough with the English version in hand. What a thrill it is to have at hand. What a thrill it is to have at hand these expressive people to work with!
There is however, a complication. Merudevi informs that the challenge for the production and all other plans for the Fest may get foiled. The scheduled event for Sunday may get postponed for Monday. The outdoor Fest won’t get off the ground because of the 90% chance of rain.
“ We are looking at the parade and stage events happening a day letter. Can you stay the extra day?.” Merudevi asks me
I think we will have to make it work. I basically surrender to the principle of adjustment. I love wholesome surprises.
