I’ve been coming here for years. I know every little nook of the place, or I thought I did, until I saw how recent erosion prevention has been implemented by the city, especially at Yellow Creek. They did a nice job.
I do see people, adults, exploring these trails, looking like kids at Disney. They seem to be wowed by their gorgeous natural surroundings. You can see it in their faces and body language. Some of these wanderers in this urban wilderness even respond to the monk in saffron as they turn a corner.
For years I’ve watched the locals, residents along the ravine, tread along here, and they are used to these surroundings, but I see a whole new crop of people coming in as if they are stepping into heaven. For them, all is good except for the skeeters (mosquitoes). It’s simply a reminder of the material world.
