a poem- Walking up the steps of Shriji.

Now let me see what do i have today in my mind to share with all of you? Oh yes i have just returned from a most spiritually enlivening experience in Barsana by serving the Brijwasis in the Barsana Dental Camp. Everyday we would go in the morning for the darshan of Shriji for mangalarati and for chanting. After that come down and start work by 9 am and work untill 7 pm, with only a 20 min break for lunch. Like this we worked for 4 days without a sign of fatigue or irritation. Now that is completely the mercy of Shriji and these are experiences as we climbed the steps of Shriji temple.

Walking up the steps of Shreeji Temple.

As the dawn breaks,
We all assemble together,
To begin the walk,
Up the steps of Shreeji temple.

All covered in our sweater,
Braving the cold weather
Chanting Hare Krishna under our breath,
Heaving and panting, gasping for breath.

Finally the wait begins
Outside the massive door.
Pure devotion comes to the fore
Pleasing Radharani to the core.

Simple people dressed in rags,
Running blindly towards her.
Immune to the material razzmatazz,
Even sense enjoyment is a blur.

O Shreeji, I make this plea,
Give me shelter I pray to thee.
Make all the obstacles flee,
In the service of your dear devotee.
