actually the biggest issue with this material world is that people think that when we die, the soul will face the consequences, what will the body face as its already dead. so commit sins and get away, but these fool hardy do not know that lord sri krishna has already said that its my maya that you for get your past than definitely it will be his maya which will show us what sins we have committed when time comes. so its still time sri krishna is showing us the path every time, so without any doubt become the servant of krishna and dedicate & submit your self to his lotus feet as he the most merciful, caring and loving. desire is the route cause of all the misery's. please do correct me.

Yes,'Desire' is one of the main cause for creation of misery of the circle of 'Birth,Death,Old age & Disease'( Janma,Mrityu,Jara & Vyadhi), but,ignorance is the base on which all problems evolve.The cloud of ignorance comes in the way of light of knowledge.Paramatma is the source of light of knowledge.Our atman is one of the millions of such rays emanating out of the one and the only one Paramatman,Sri Krishna who is always in Krishna lok (i.e.Golok,Vrindavan) with Radha the embodiment of pure unconditional Love and devotion.
We are born into this material world due to our 'Prarabdha' i.e. result of sum total of our karmas in past lives.We develop since childhood the habit of identifying ourselves with the material body .All the sanskars, ever since our birth, tend to develop this identity with our body so much so that we forget the Atma which comes and sits in our body from the first breath that it takes till the time it takes its last breath ,when it departs.Atman tends to forget its divine source i.e. Paramatman due to the cloud of ignorance made of 'Maya' which is always in the control of Paramatma.Paramatma is witness 'Sakshi' sitting in every one and remembers all the past ,present and future of all creation.We can never control 'Maya' as it is only controlled by Sri Krishna.Only,when we surrender ourselves completely to Sri Krishna through our mind,body and heart , that 'Maya' becomes 'Yog maya shakti' and leads us to become true loving devotional servant of Sri Krishna.Complete surrender to Sri Krishna can occur only through development of pure devotional service for which guidance of a bonafide spiritual master is a must.Meanwhile,till we happen to find such guidance,we should read Shri Bhagwat Gita,Shrimad Bhagvatam etc. and try to be in association of true devotees of Sri Krishna (Satsang).
