During his stay in Melbourne in 1972, Prabhupada often commented on the sweetness of the drinking water. Coming from protected catchments to the north and east of the city, it was of particularly high quality and fresh-tasting. Being a connoisseur of water, Srila Prabhupada could discern its different tastes and qualities. He made his judgment: since it gave him an appetite, he said, it was good for his digestion. Melbourne water, he concluded, was amongst the best that he had tasted in the world.
