Turkish Delight
By Madhavi d.d.
•4 cups milk
•10‐12 tbsp sugar
•12 tbsp cream of wheat
•4 tbsp vanilla extract
•2 tbsp cinnamon powder
Preparation
In a saucepan, mix well all the ingredients over medium heat. Stir constantly and bring to a boil.
It will take about 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a 8x8 baking dish to cool. Sprinkle
cinnamon on top and let it cool in the refrigerator until it is firm.
This is the first dessert I tasted in Turkey. I do not know the name of it but have always called it,
“Turkish Delight.” It is a very lite and healthy sweet you can make for children or the elderly.
For variation, you may use almond extract instead of vanilla. Or you may use carob powder to
make it a brownish delight!
