Born in 1954 in Hamburg,
Germany, At a young age, he began searching for answers anywhere
they could be found—from the esoteric teachings of the old world
spiritual traditions to the modern theories of psychology and
parapsychology. The fragments of knowledge from this quest came
together in 1971, when his spiritual journey culminated in
discovering the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami Prabhupada, the founder-acarya of the International Society
for Krishna Consciousness. Having found the spiritual wisdom and
lifestyle for which he had so long yearned, His Holiness
Sacinandana Swami soon became absorbed in translating his spiritual
master’s English translation of the Bhagavad-gita, into German. In
1989 he took a vow of lifelong renunciation (sannyasi) and himself
became an initiating spiritual master (guru). His Holiness also
developed a number of innovative programs for spreading devotional
knowledge to large audiences in eastern Europe. All the while, he
has remained focused on his own spiritual practices, especially
taking time to visit India’s sacred pilgrimage sites to seek
personal inspiration as well as to conduct spiritual retreats for
the benefit of others. He is particularly partial to the sacred
land of Vrindavan, birthplace of Lord Krishna, where he holds a
highly acclaimed yearly retreat. He is a regular instructor at many
institutions dedicated to disseminating spiritual knowledge,
including the Vrndavana Institute for Higher Education in India and
the Bhaktivedanta College in Belgium. He also serves as the
spiritual director of the Veda Academy, an internationally
recognized university of Vedic sciences, arts, and philosophy
active in eight countries. He simultaneously guides and inspires
people all over the world through his personal example, lectures,
and writings. His publications include The Nectarean Ocean of the
Holy Name, The Gayatri Book, The Way of the Great Departure, The
Art of Transformation, Spiritual Tonic, and Divine Names, a double
CD with bhajans.Visit Website
