Ingredients
•1 cup butter, softened
•½ cup firmly pack brown sugar
•1 tsp vanilla
•2 ¼ cup flour
•½ cup sugar
•2 tbsp carob powder
Preparation
Combine butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat
at medium speed, until
creamy. Add flour and mix mixture until a soft dough
formed.
Divide the dough in half (in two bowls). Add carob powder to
one of the bowls and mix
well. Shape each half into 2 6x1 inch round log. Press and
mode together 1 white and 1
dark log. Shape 2 colored dough into 6x2 inch log. Repeat with
the remaining 2 pieces of
dough (now you have 2 2-colored dough).
Wrap each log in plastic wrap and chill for a few hours.
Preheat the oven to 375F. Cut logs into ¼ inch slices with a
sharp knife. Place 1 inch apart
onto the baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand 5
minutes before removing
from cooking sheets.
