When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

21 years ago, in Berkeley, CA; my son's day care providers were very active in the temple which was a few blocks from our homes at the time. I had always been drawn to Indian culture, and they invited me to the temple. The first time I went to kirtan, I had strong visions of being in a field, in a sari, working with other women. I knew I was 'home.'

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

Dallas is the closest, our transportation is poor, I do not know anyone there anymore. I've been to a local Hindu temple but it's not the same.

Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.

Single mother on permanent disability. Want to keep learning despite my limited learning abilities.

What are your expectations from this community?

Really, no expectations. I would hope to just use the resources to learn, since I can't read as much as I used to and audio / video is much easier to pick up for me, and for now, kirtan on the webcam is all we're capable of.

Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?

Teaching my daughters about Krishna; it's my most important job.
