When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?

Since childhood. My family are Vaishnavs from West Bengal India and many were born and brought up in Nabadwip.I was extremely close to my grandmother who was a guru and devotee who prayed, served others and sang devotional bhajans all the time.

Name the nearest or most frequently Visited ISKCON temple/ centre and name few of the devotees whom you know.

I have always visited with my elderly family. We are a family which spends most of our time together, and so far has no regular weekly friends' circle from ISKCON. Soho, London is our closest one, and we visit regularly but never get to know the disciples who tend to be busy with each other and in running the temple and devotional duties.

Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.

I have been described as being exceptionally loyal, with high standards of integrity and one who loves deeply and profoundly and unconditionally (specifically only a few people - my close family, and in future hopefully wife and children one day). I am very hard working and am successful as one of the youngest ever appointed consultant (boss) doctors in my field: medicine. I am very humble and self-deprecating - many would say a bit too much. I always prioritised close family and travelling above all else. I love reading about everything (especially ancient history, architecture, medicine, business, philosophy, travel) and so know a lot about these subjects and can hold down good conversations with experts on them. I've always had very high personal moral standards which I would see very few (if any) others follow, but I would be too anxious and disgusted at my self to break. For example, I always believed in real love only being possible after marriage with only 1 person, and ANY physical intimacy outside marriage was always wrong and counterproductive. I thought this was the ISKCON way and was quite strict with myself. In this society that is anathema, so it meant I just avoided a large amount of society associated with modern life - ie no dating, clubbing, going to bars etc. You could therefore say I was not "social" or modern and perhaps very traditional/orthodox. I also have old-fashioned senses on things like dress code and etiquette. I would always try and be friedns with people, but never look for anything more. So I never was very social, but due to sports and being empathetic and caring, I still have lots of people who I get on with and with whom we mutually trust and care about each other.

What are your expectations from this community?

Serve God. Learn from others. Support and help people. Make friends. May be to find someone to marry through arranged marriage if compatibilities matched and they were fully devoted.

Describe any specific service you would love to offer to Lord Krishna & His devotees?

Volunteering time to work and teach.
